One of the most memorable books or collections of stories. It is on my shelf always. Check out the reviews of the same novel by this name: Worlds of Exile and Illusion: Three Complete Novels of the Hainish Series.

An excellent trilogy by an excellent author/5(10). Three novels, Rocannon's World, Planet of Exile, and City of Illusions, make up this collection. These are Le Guin's first three novels, and the first three set in the Hainish universe (which also includes The Left Hand of Darkness, The Dispossessed, The /5.

The Hainish connection is not enough to join the three works in any meaningful manner. A disappointment from an author whose later works among Three hainish novels book best. Useful only as a study of her development and growth as a storyteller/5.

The thing is, they aren't a cycle or a saga. The compelling saga of Generations of space travelers From the prize-winning author of The Left Hand of Darkness comes a trio of spellbinding novels—in 1 volume. ROCANNON’S WORLD. The4/5(32). Three Hainish Novels Three Hainish Novels by Ursula K.

Her career as a novelist was launched by the three novels contained here. These books, Rocannon's World, Planet of Exile, and City of Illusions. Le Guin's first three Hainish novels collected in one spellbinding volume.

For such short novels (the longest, City of Illusions, is barely pages) Le Guin packs a hell of a lot of story, ideas and emotion into them.4/5(18). I started reading the Three Hainish Novels on a lark, thinking I'd get some kicks out of seeing what world building here spawned "Left Hand of Darkness".

This novel was incredibley focused.5/5(2). Ursula K. Le Guin is one of the most celebrated writers of her generation, recipient of multiple Hugo, Nebula, Locus, and World Fantasy Awards.
